On Saturday January 20, members of Université Laval's diplomatic simulation association delegations gathered to take part in the 2024 edition of the Simulation Laval, entirely in English.
This year, delegates represented 50 UN member states on the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC). They worked together on two topics:
- Cyber Security and Protecting Against Cyber Warfare ;
- The Threat of Transnational Organized Crime to International Security ;
This simulation was a good opportunity to practice multilateral negotiations within an international organization such as the UN. As the delegates' backgrounds were diverse (Political Science, Law, International Relations, etc.), it was also an opportunity for each of them to share their experiences.
This simulation was made possible thanks to the investment of the executive committees of the following associations: OTAN Laval, ASNUUL, HNMUN et DESUAL. Cégep St-Lawrence also presented a team of delegates.
