From 3 to 7 March, under the direction of Prof. Anessa Kimball, the CSI and Mr Diego F. Osorio welcomed to Université Laval an Argentinian delegation from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the National Defence University (UNDEF) as part of a joint project for an intensive trilingual course (French - English - Spanish) entitled: Response and Action for Public security Involving intense weather Disasters or RAPID.
The week provided an opportunity to establish the objectives, themes and relevant assessments of the RAPID project. The overall objective is to provide theoretical, practical and normative training and education, using interdisciplinary approaches to understand concepts and respond to human security challenges. The aim is to prepare participants to intervene effectively and resiliently in crisis situations, whether caused by natural or man-made disasters.

During the week, our guests Professor Luciana Micha (UBA, CEPI) and Professor Adolfo Rossi (UNDEF) also met with several students from ULaval to talk about their activities in Argentina.

Professor Micha presented the activities of the Centre for International Policy Studies (CEPI) at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. The Centre divides its activities into ten themes:
