This year marks the tenth anniversary of this unique Canadian event. The theme chosen for the 2019 edition is the transformations that Canadian society is undergoing, and their impact on the country's security. The topics to be discussed are varied. In the first panel ("Plural diversities"), speakers will talk about the new demographic reality of Canadian society and the implications for Canada's security forces. The second panel ("Inter-generational realities; the challenge of priorities and values") will address the issue of differences in posture between generations, and the challenges these differences pose. The third forum ("The gender question") will look at gender-related inclusion objectives and the challenges they entail. A fourth forum ("Recruitment and Retention in Canada's Defence Forces") will look at the prospects for recruiting and retaining personnel assigned to the country's defence tasks, which involve unique requirements and constraints. This year, a session has been reserved for participants, who will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions of the speakers during a plenary session.
